Consider This Scenario

As a customer wanders around the store, they start seeking for help and stumble upon a working man/woman. Their arms colored and filled with tattoos and their ears dangled with not one, two, but five earrings. They even have piercings on their face! Will they be comfortable enough in asking them for help? Would they feel the employee's appearance is not approachable? What will they do? Find another worker in the store who looks more descent and approachable?

If you were the manager of the store, would you hire an employee who has tattoos and piercings all over their body? 

The Opinion of Tattoos in The Workplace Today

Tattoos have become a popular trend in the 21st century. Almost everyone has some type of tattoo on their body. It's hard to hire someone who doesn't have tattoos because almost everyone has it! In today's society, tattoos have squeezed its way to become an acceptance. Some workplace doesn't mind the visual tattoos on their employees while other workplaces strictly restrict their employees from having tattoos. Though tattoos has become an acceptance in many workplace, (although some workplace require them to cover up, i.e. doctors and nurses) it causes judgments upon the individual. Children are growing up learning that tattoos are only for bad people. Would this be considered stereotyping? Tattoos are known as trashy, low class, and a lack of education of the individual. What are your opinions on tattoos?

The Opinion of Piercings in The Workplace Today

Like tattoos, piercings has been a widely controversial topic when it comes to employees; especially facial piercings. Back in the days, women are the only ones who get piercings (meaning one on each ear) and men weren't known to have piercings at all. But in today's world, we see all kinds of humans with all kinds of piercings. Men are even starting to get their ears pierced! But that's old news.

Women seem to be getting the most judgment when it comes to facial piercings. People would look at them as sluts and trashy girls. Why is it that women get the harshest criticism and not men?

Many people say that having multiple piercings does not affect them getting a job. All they have to do is take them off and put them back on after work. But don't you want to leave them on without having to go through taking them on and off all day? What are your opinions on piercings?
