The video below is done by Vault Video. In this
short two minute clip, they include both surveys and interviews by students and
workers who already have a job and/or looking for one. Many believe that having
tattoos and piercings where it's visible can decrease that individual's chance
of getting a job. Many others believe that having tattoos and piercings is no
big deal. If the workplace cannot accept them as they are then they should move
on and find another job. Could the workplace have lost one of the best working
people because they have visible tattoos and piercings?

The video below is done by UTTV San Diego. Cory
Fish discuss how tattoos can and could not be a taboo in workplaces. Many people
see tattoos as discrimination. That is the reason why most people cover it up
while working. However, profession jobs such as doctors and nurses are
requiring covering up any tattoos they have because they are working in a
professional career. But nowadays, who doesn't have tattoos? Tattoos have
become such a popular trend today, that almost everyone has it.

Think about it
After
watching these videos, what do you think? Are tattoos/piercings really a big
deal on employees? Tattoos/piercings shouldn't discriminate who the person is,
right? But still, so many people stereotype and judge them as trashy, lack of
education, and bad. Why is that the case? What has set people's mind to see
tattoos/piercings as something bad. What can we do so that people can see that
tattoos/piercings has no say in what or who the person really is? Comment below and
let me know.
